Anuário Antropológico

Anuário Antropológico is a scientific journal published three times a year by the Graduate Program in Social Anthropology at the University of Brasília (Brazil). Founded in 1976 by professor Roberto Cardoso de Oliveira, it is one of the oldest anthropology journals in Brazil. The first volume was published in 1977, the same year that Graduate Program was created. Although its headquarters have always been at the University of Brasília (UnB), the Anuário Antropológico was created as a periodical with a truly national character and international projection. Anuário Antropológico was published annually up to 2009, changing its periodicity to biannual in 2010 and, in 2020, becomes triannual (January-April, May-August and September-December). The journal publishes original contributions, bringing together a significant portion of national production with international distribution. Anuário Antropológico has always received contributions from colleagues all around Brazil and from other countries, mainly of Latin America. To fulfil this international goal, Anuário Antropológico publishes in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French in the form of articles, interviews, conferences, visual and bibliographic essays and reviews of recent books and films. The published materials present quality scientific research and relevant theoretical dialogues from different analytical perspectives. Contributions are evaluated by the Editorial Team (regarding adequacy to the editorial line) and by external and anonymous ad hoc reviewers (regarding content and quality of the contributions). This journal offers free access to its content, following the principle that wide availability of science provides greater democratization of knowledge.
