Carnegie-Endowment’s-conference-center

The Carnegie Endowment’s conference center provides an ideal location for meetings and functions in the national capital area. Located in the heart of Dupont Circle, the center is dedicated to serving the needs of both public and private sector organizations in the area. The rich cross-section of clients served includes the Inter-American Dialogue, the Institute for Conservation Leadership, the National Center for Refugee and Immigrant Children, and Booz Allen Hamilton.

Sustainable Conference Practices

Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is committed to the protection of the environment and the creation and maintenance of healthy conference space through the implementation of an effective sustainable conferencing program. In an effort to reduce the building’s carbon footprint, the conference center currently offers compostable or post-consumer paper and plastic products, green cleaning products, and energy-saving bulbs.

In keeping with our vision of environmental sustainability, we strongly encourage our vendors and clients to participate in the following manner:

The use of post-consumer paper products and placing them in the provided recycling bins
Requesting and serving condiments in bulk containers when appropriate
Requesting and serving water in large containers rather than individual bottles
Requesting and using recycled content tablecloths, napkins, and biodegradable cups, plates, and cutlery
Serve locally-grown and/or organic food products based upon seasonal availability.
We appreciate any and all efforts exercised by our visitors to reduce our environmental impact.
