Sathish Kumar Selvaperumal

Dr. Sathish Kumar Selvaperumal received his B.Eng. Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2001, and M.Eng. Degree in Applied Electronics in 2005 from Arulmigu Meenakshi Amman College of Engineering, affiliated to University of Madras and Anna University respectively. He received his Ph.D. in 2014 from Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya in Electronics & Communication Engineering and C.Eng in 2016 from U.K. Currently he is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Computing, Engineering & Technology, Asia Pacific University of Innovation and Technology, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His research and teaching interests include Image Processing, Speech Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical applications, Antenna design, Wireless communication, and Wireless power transfer, Internet of Things, Robotics and Sustainability. He has published more than 30 articles in a variety of internally reputed journals.

Academic Experience

I was the Head of the Department In charge of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, Karpaga Vinayagar College of Engineering (KVCET), India from June 2001 to June 2006. Following, I became a Senior Lecturer and promoted to Assistant Professor for the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, Prathyusha Institute of Technology and management (PITAM), India from July 2006 to July 2010. Finally, I joined Asia Pacific University in August 2010 and continued serving as Program Leader for the Telecommunication Engineering Programme and Final Year Project (FYP) manager.

Research Areas & Publications

I pursued my doctoral research work from Aug 2009 at the Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, India and completed in Aug 2014, in Electronics and Communication Engineering for the thesis entitled “An Efficient Approach to Digital Angiographic Blood Vessel Detection”.

My research areas and teaching interest include Image Processing (Segmentation, Compression, Image Fusion, Image Restoration), Speech Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical applications, Antenna design, Wireless communication, and Wireless power transfer, Internet of Things, Robotics and Sustainability. He has published more than 30 articles in a variety of internally reputed journals.

I have reviewed more than 50 papers submitted in the International Conferences, and have served as a designated Technical Reviewer in 23 International Conferences held in, Indonesia, India, Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand, and have served as a designated Technical Advisory Committee Member for an IEEE based International Conference for 4 consecutive years. In addition, I have also served as a Technical Reviewer for the International Scopus indexed Journal “Strojniski Vestnik- Journal of Mechanical Engineering (Sv-JME)”, ISSN: 0039-2480., since 2015 (3 years until now).  Further, I have served as a session chair for International conferences. I have represented APU at many International and National conferences in Malaysia, India, and Nepal and as a Keynote speaker and as special Guest.
