The conference will focus on the green transformation of the entire shipping industry chain and the future development of green bunker fuels, comprehensively analysing the opportunities and challenges of green shipping in China, and helping the industry to better grasp the future direction of green shipping and bunker fuels.
As the IMO’s strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions advances, and the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and the EU Marine Fuel Regulation (FuelEU Maritime) are being introduced and implemented one after another, it is particularly urgent for the shipping industry to reduce carbon emissions and undergo a green transformation. Achieving the decarbonisation and green upgrading of the shipping industry requires the concerted efforts of the entire industry chain, and green marine fuels play a crucial role in this process. China’s rich biomass resources, large-scale and low-cost wind and solar power generation, as well as its advantages in shipping, shipbuilding and ports, give it a unique and important position in the green transformation of global shipping.
